All white beaches are mostly located in the southern part of the Philippines. It’s a surprise that there are also white beaches hidden in northern Luzon like Anawangin. It’s a paradise away from the hassle and bustle of Manila.

It was not summer when we went to Anawangin in Zambales. Together with my officemates, we commuted via Victory Liner bus. I wasn’t expecting that the place will match the beauty of other places I’ve been to, like Palawan and Bohol.

Although the sand is not as white as the beaches in Bohol and Palawan, the place is a perfect getaway if you are in a budget. The travel time takes more than an hour to Zambales and less than 30-minute boat ride to the island.

The sea breeze, the green tress and the peaceful surroundings of Anawangin makes it perfect for short vacations. Just don’t forget to bring your tent if you plan to stay in the island overnight. Keep your tent open so you wouldn’t miss the night sky covered with countless stars you can only see when you’re in an island.
